BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY
In September 2010, I took one of the most powerful trips of my life. I drove with my friend Edie to Kanab Utah to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. I spent my days with Semi Feral cats, cats with Disabilities and cats with Feline Leukemia. Here are some of our pictures from the trip. We were out of Dogtown Books for a while but we have them back in stock!!

Saint Francis of Assisi statue in the garden. Saint Francis is the Patron Saint of Animals. With many Orbs
First picture I took at the Sanctuary. First picture of orbs I've taken
Sweet little Dilly, in the house for disabled darlings. She got around just fine!!
Cute tiny cat sleeping. I didn't want to disturb her.
The adorable Miss Dot. She is so cute it's ridiculous. She is blind which is what gives her this perpetually surprised expression.
Outdoor enclosure. There is also an indoor airconditioned room for them. It is an amazing system!!
Sunset at our cottage in Angel's Canyon within the Sanctuary. More beautiful than I can say.
Kitty with Orbs
I purchased a number of these books at Dogtown / Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. You may have one for a minimum donation of $20.00. I will be forwarding 100% of the proceeds to Best Friends. As this is a personal campaign of Erin's, it is cash donations only. Donations can be made at the store. To date we have sent $1754.74 U.S. to Best Friends.
This is Minda. She lives in Calmar which is a house for cats with Feline Leukemia. She was lovely in spite of a missing eye.

Windchimes at Angel's Rest. There are hundreds of chimes there and the breeze started blowing when we were there.

Just before I left for Utah, Gayle was telling me that she gets orbs in her family pictures all the time. I mentioned that of the thousands of digital pictures I have taken, I have never had a single orb. Until Best Friends. The very first picture I took on Sanctuary grounds had orbs as did many after that. There was not a single orb in any pictures I took on the way, in pictures we took in town or on our trip to the Grand Canyon. Literally not a single orb out of the sanctuary. What is interesting is that when Edie put her pictures on her computer, she had exactly the same thing. Orbs are believed to be spirits of beings and animals who have passed. Interestingly, we did not get a single orb at Angel's Rest. Here are some of our orb pictures.

Edie took Marni out for a walk in town. She loved the lawn like nobodys business.

Picture 2-Taken right after...no orbs or square.
Picture of me taken by Edie. The one streak appears nearly solid.
More streaks. I was feeling quite melancholy after a visit to Angel's Rest.
ORBS
This darling is missing her back legs. She is in the common area, which is like a living room, so she is surrounded by people and love.
Our cabins. Pretty deluxe considering that we weren't sure if there would be outhouses or not.
Roxy. She is so cute and little that they call her "Nermal the world's cutest Kitten". She has neurological issues so she's really unsteady.
This is Willow. She was so sweet. She looks exactly like my Emma, so I really wanted to take her home. She has feline leukemia, so that wasn't possible.
Just plain beautiful isn't she. This is Harlo.
One of the outdoor enclosures. Cats can even go into the rafters if they want to get away from people.
Beautiful Alicia.
Lotus on the Koi Pond in the garden at the Welcome Center.
I have several orb pics of this fast moving cat. The placement of orbs is always by his blind eye. PS-there is a roof in this area, so no sun to reflect.

As a young person I was terrified of all dogs big and small. About 12 years ago my sister Jess rescued a yellow lab named Sandi. Slowly but surely (she was very patient) that fear was replaced with love, as she found her way to my heart. That love has grown and grown over these last ten years and now extends to all animals. I am so grateful to Sandi that she showed me my fears were irrational and I was missing so much. Thank you old friend.

Sandi has gone to the Rainbow Bridge where joints don't ache and she is a puppy again. We will miss you. Thank you for coming into our lives and giving much more than you ever asked in return.

Love Erin
SANDI
